Ljudmila Stratimirovic
After completing studies in 1993 in Belgrade at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Department of Scenography and Painting, Ljudmila Stratimirović founded the independent experimental theater group “Hat Theatre”. Group performed from 1993 to 2006 in various cultural institutions and festivals in Serbia and in the region. In 2000, together with Dejan Ubović, founded the NGO Cultural Front, where she works as artistic director as well as a manager of various activities and projects. In 2000, they launched Crossradio, a network of 13 independent radio stations in the region promoting the independent cultural scene in the Balkan region and wider. Crossradio was active until 2007.
In 2009, Ljudmila Stratimirović and Dejan Ubović founded the European Center for Culture and Debate – GRAD, known as KC Grad, a place dedicated to the creation and promotion of the local art scene. Ljudmila is the artistic director and curator of visual programs in KC Grad. Apart from the annual exhibition program at the Grad Gallery she also founded projects like: “Artist in residence” (since 2014); Design event ” Take away Fashion ” (since 2007), project combining crafts and contemporary design “New Folklore” in 2015, “Exploring inspiration” in 2017 (crafts and contemporary design) connecting local and Dutch designers and experts. From 2008 till 2022, Ljudmila collaborated with the Special Hospital of the Central Prison in Belgrade organizing exhibitions of brut-art collection. She was curator and art director of several European projects. In 2019, she initiated Art Weekend Belgrade, an event aiming to gather and promote the local art scene.
