With the premise that today images of the things we want to be or possess are the only certain given, a series of images called “Imago” is created. “Imago” explores the power of discarded kitsch images from social media by focusing on the motif of the heart in the context of easel painting and comparing aesthetic preferences within the class system. The idea for the creation of the series arose through a direct experience when exchanging picture messages with family members, which did not have personal sentimentality but universal sentimental value. Seen from the perspective of the older generations of the lower working class, the images of the heart represent a sublimate of the most positive and gentle feelings that can be forwarded to the desired circle of people with a few steps on the phone or computer. Images of the heart are therefore also a kind of representation of utopia because their expansion in the digital world is proportional to the alienation and deprivation of the present man.
