Room 27 | Rade Tepavcevic | Santa Claus | Santa Claus in Trouble
By giving animals the characteristics of a person to send the message more clearly, Rade Tepavcevic’s paintings can be interpreted as fabels and in this way, he allegorically paints the relationship between people and animals (dogs).
Sometimes, the text occures on the paintings and the form of the text is often concise in ofer to establish dynamics, but also purified from the superfluous words that would distance it from the essence. As the observer of his everyday surrounding, Rade is using the painting expression and selection of the material to reveal his rebellion that is used to criticize contemporary society. His paintings invite us to wake up and overcome the mechanisms that threaten to swallow rational thought, the mechanisms that mark us as tattoos.
