Nuno Sacramento is a curator, director of Peacock Visual Arts, (Aberdeen, UK). Between 2010 and 2016 he was director of the Scottish Sculpture Workshop. He graduated from the DeAppel Foundation in Amsterdam and received his PhD in Visual Arts (Shadow Curating) from DJCAD, University of Dundee. He sits on the board of the Scottish Contemporary Art Network and is a member of the steering groups of the Scottish Art Workshops and Culture in Aberdeen.
Nuno is the co-author of the books ARTOCRACY (2010) and DEEP MAPPING (2017). He was the curator of CAMP BREAKDOWN SCOTLAND, Makers’ Meal, Slov Prototipes and Skills Bienalle projects. Most recently, Sacramento set up The Worm – a project space dedicated to cultural activity on the ground and underground in Aberdeen, as well as Scotland’s first fully funded curatorial fellowship. Within the project The Worm, he curated Another World is Possible and New Aberdeen Bestiary. He also co-curated DUSK, a contemporary art festival about ancient stones under the night sky.
