GRAD – European Centre for Culture and Debate, also known as KC GRAD, was opened in 2009. It is a product of a joint initiative of Cultural Front Belgrade and Amsterdam based Felix Meritis Foundation. Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands through the MATRA program and the Belgrade municipality Savski venac, for the first time in our country an object of industrial heritage becomes a place of cultural events.
The old warehouse has been converted into a multifunctional space with the possibility of organizing programs such as exhibitions, concerts, debates, performances, conferences and workshops. The idea was to preserve as much as possible the atmosphere of the old warehouse on the banks of the Sava river by introducing only the most necessary novelties that are needed for the functioning of a cultural center.
Through all its programs and activities as well as cooperation that are established on regional and European level, KC Grad harness the power of culture and arts to contribute the social cohesion, cultural participation, mobility of artists and cultural workers and promotion of human rights.
