Art Gallery Zvono | Madlena Dasic | Cigarettes, Cognac & Pavarotti
This motionless performance, as the author would call it, represents visual prose in the form of spatial installations. The transformation of the author’s literary work within the gallery space has two purposes. The first is an exhibition of works in which the audience is invited to participate and interact outside the cover of the physical book.
The second purpose is the formation of a new experience, which, unlike the relationship to words in printed form, arises from their presentation in space, contributing to the insight into the subjective process of the poems themselves. The setting, imbued with a cynical dose of spirit, whose concept of presentation is based on the use of everyday objects, uses the most intimate elements of the author’s visuals.
Program of Art Gallery Zvono focuses primarily on the young artists, entering the art scene. The exhibition plan has been designed and articulated to give affirmation to the contemporary artistic tendencies and the modern expression presented in visual arts. The gallery has succesfully been working on the local art scene for 26 years, having realised over 400 group and individual exhibitions, while simultaneously working on international promotion of local emerging artists. Zvono Art Gallery presented its artists at the 2005 Vienna Art Fair and thus officially became the first private art gallery from Serbia to enter the EU art market. Ever since then, the gallery has also been succesfully presenting itself on other contemporary art fairs: Viennafair in Vienna, Art Fair 21 in Cologne, Art Moscow, Kunstart in Bolcano, Verge Art Fair in Miami.
Zvono Art Gallery continues along its well traced path, by following the new art tendencies and articulating them as part of its future exhibitions.
